Rebrov was offered a job in Russia

The new head coach of the Ukrainian national team, Serhiy Rebrov, has rejected an offer from a Russian club that had the good sense to try to sign the legendary Dynamo player after Russia's full-scale invasion of our country. Representatives of the Russian Federation tried to lure the ex-Rubin player during his time at the Emirati side Al Ain.

Famous Russian journalist Alexei Andronov wrote about this on his Telegram channel. He praised Rebrov for not agreeing to work for a terrorist state and wished him good luck with the Ukrainian national team, with which he will make his debut on June 12 in Germany.

"Now the media are timidly mentioning that you were a Russian champion. With Rubin. I will say more. You had a very serious offer from a Russian top club. But it was already in progress (which cannot be called that). You did not come. And you did the right thing. There is no need to be timid. Serhiy Rebrov has always served football. He has never served anyone. He did not flirt. He did not seek happiness at the intersection with politics," the former Match TV commentator shared.

As a reminder, Serhiy Rebrov has signed a three-year contract with the Ukrainian Football Association (UAF). He will make his debut in the Ukrainian national team on June 12, when the national team will play a friendly match with the German national team. It will be the 1000th in the history of the Bundestim. After that, the Blue and Yellows will face Euro 2024 qualifiers against North Macedonia ( June 16) and Malta ( June 19).

As reported by OBOZREVATEL, the Ukrainian national soccer team lost its leading striker before the June matches.
