Rakitskyi came on in goal instead of the goalkeeper at the UPL match. Video.
Shakhtar Donetsk defender Yaroslav Rakitskiy was forced to play the rest of the match against Dnipro-1 in goal after Anatoliy Trubin was sent off. The 33-year-old was given goalkeeping gloves and a T-shirt with Shevchenko's name on it (the Shakhtar's second goalkeeper).
In the last seconds of the match, a massive brawl broke out between the players at the Arena Lviv pitch. As a result of the fight, Kateryna Monzul sent off three players, including Shakhtar's main goalkeeper.
Since all the replacements had been made by then, Igor Jovićević put his veteran in the frame.
This decision caused a violent reaction on the Orange and Blacks' bench, especially from Andriy Pyatov.
It is worth noting that Yaroslav did not concede a goal in the remaining time, leaving his goal untouched.
As OBOZREVATEL previously reported, Shakhtar beat Dnipro-1 3-0 to win the Ukrainian championship for the 14th time in its history.
