The nephew of the famous Israeli footballer Yossi Benayoun, who is a member of the Golani Infantry Brigade, was at the epicenter of a Hamas terrorist attack on Saturday, October 7. According to sports.walla.co.il, the son of the sister of the two-time Israeli champion and former head coach of the Israeli national team, eliminated three terrorists.

A fourth terrorist threw a grenade into the house, causing a fire, but the family managed to escape. A group of soldiers then arrived and helped them.

Banyon's sister lives with her family in Kibbutz Bari, one of the places that suffered a serious attack. Banyon's son-in-law was wounded by shrapnel and bullets, but managed to escape and hide in a field. He was later found by the military and taken to a hospital where he underwent surgery.
