Footballers of the Russian and Iranian national teams staged a mass brawl in the final of the competition for people with hearing impairment - the first summer Deaflympics organized in Ufa by the aggressor country as an alternative to the world tournament. The reason for the scuffle was the work of the referee, who helped the hosts in every possible way.

This is reported by the portal Sport24. According to his data, despite the strange decisions of the referee, the Iranians beat the Russians with a score of 2:1. Five minutes were added to the main time of the match, at the end of which the referee awarded a penalty to the visitors.

The decision infuriated the Iranians. Their players and coaches were unhappy that the referee didn't blow the final whistle earlier, as the five added minutes had expired. After that, the teams went wall to wall.

As a result, Iran's head coach led the team off the field. The guests were given a technical defeat, and the Russian team was awarded the trophy for first place. The Iranians did not even come to the award ceremony.
