Father of ex-Ukrainian footballer is killed in war with Russia
The father of former Ukrainian junior and youth national team footballer Mykola Zhovtyuk died in the war with the Russian occupiers, Football24 reports. Volodymyr Zhovtyuk was 56 years old. His funeral will take place on 28 June in Zvyagel (until 2022, Novohrad-Volynskyi, Zhytomyr region).
Mykola Zhovtyuk is a pupil of "Karpaty". In 2009, he played 6 matches for the Ukrainian youth national team (under 17). In 2012, he played in one match for the youth national team.
In July 2018, he signed a contract with Crystal. He made his debut for the Kherson club on 18 July in the Ukrainian Cup match against Energia Nova Kakhovka, and on 5 August of the same year, for the first time in his professional career, he scored a double against Nikopol.
In 2022, he went on loan to Polish side Gogolin.
