Chief Navigator of the Pacific Fleet dies during a marathon. Video.
Captain 1st Class Evgeny Vityutnev, 41, died during the Bridges of Vladivostok marathon. The chief navigator of the Russian Pacific Fleet felt unwell on September 28 during the race and left the course. He urgently needed medical assistance, but they failed to revive him.
The fact of his death was confirmed by the Primorye Ministry of Health, but the cause has not yet been announced. Before the start, the marathon participants underwent a medical examination.

The incident occurred on the descent from Okatova Street towards Radioprylad, near the 5 km start. There is a long climb before Okatova Street, one of the most difficult sections of the marathon.
"We have lost not just a talented officer, but also a man with a big heart, dedicated to his work. Evgeny Vityutnev was a professional in his field," said Alexander Baranov, head of the closed administrative-territorial entity Fokino in Russia's Primorsky Krai.
The incident occurred in Vladivostok.
