"At the mere mention": Valuev gave out a dictum about Ukrainians becoming pariahs in the world
Former world heavyweight champion Nikolay Valuev has made ridiculous comments about the refusal of Kryvbas players to shake hands with Turkish referees before the match of the Conference League. Our athletes did not greet the referees, who in the spring did not hesitate to go to Russia, where they worked at the match between the local team and Serbia.
In a comment to the propaganda publication "Sport-Express" Valuev expressed the absurd idea that Ukrainians are turning into pariahs of the world community. The so-called State Duma deputy gave out traditional Kremlin narratives about Nazis in our country, forgetting to mention that it was Russia that unleashed a criminal war to destroy Ukrainian statehood and nationhood.
"One day people won't want to rub shoulders with those who shook hands with the Nazis. There has been such a thing. But that time has not come. Ukrainians have every chance that in the future at the mere mention of them people will cross to the other side of the street. They are doing a lot for this," Valuyev said.
We would like to point out that on the eve of the Conference League match against Spanish side Betis, the Kryvbas management appealed to the European Football Union (UEFA) with a request to replace the Turkish team of referees.
