Italian West Ham United defender Cristiano Biraghi was injured by fans during the Conference League final. The match against Fiorentina Italy took place at the Fortuna Arena in Prague.
On 35 minutes, the Hammers' captain came to the corner flag to take a cross and at that moment various objects, including plastic glasses, flew in from the stands. One of them broke the player's head in blood.
The Spanish referee Carlos Del Cerro Grande had to suspend the game for a while and the medics had to deal with the player's injury.
The match eventually ended in a 2-1 victory for West Ham. On 62 minutes, Saeed Benrahma opened the scoring thanks to a penalty kick. 5 minutes later Giacomo Bonaventura restored the balance. Jarrod Bowen scored the winning goal on 90 minutes.
