Kenya's track and field champion Zablon Ekwama of the Kenya Defense Force (KDF) [equivalent to our CSKA - ed.] was able to fantastically avoid disqualification during the national championships. In the 4x400 meter relay at the Nyayo National Stadium in Nairobi, 25-year-old Ekwama dropped the baton and managed to catch it on the fly.

The video, which went viral on the Internet, shows the baton slipping out of the athlete's hands as he moved, hitting the heel of his opponent running ahead and bouncing right back into the owner's hands.

The authors of the video called it an unbelievable event.

The episode also evoked genuine emotion from ordinary fans.

"If it were a movie, I would say they went overboard with the unrealistic effects," "Really amazing and what dexterity, I think the stick rebounded off the sole of the sneaker," "Hidden Jedi used the force," "The contest for the event of the year in sports can be considered closed," fans wrote.

Note that this embarrassment did not prevent the KDF team from taking second place.
