"Are you a man or a woman?": in the Poltava region, city council head gets into scandal for humiliating an officer's wife at a session

In the Poltava region, Vitaliy Sydorenko, head of the Zavodske City Council (Myrhorod district), made an unfortunate joke during a session broadcast online, asking the wife of an air defense officer who has been protecting our sky since the beginning of the full-scale invasion whether she was a man or a woman.

Inna Teniakova described this unpleasant situation on her Facebook page. "The head of the community opened the meeting by asking me whether I am a man or a woman because the dear mayor cannot see my face under the hat," she explained.

The session addressed the issue of reorganizing one of the community's schools, so it was attended by locals who came to express their opinion on this decision. Instead, according to the participants, they received a dose of open hate and humiliation.

"I was publicly humiliated. I'm not going to say how this behavior affects my self-esteem, but I would like to ask whether he knows anything about good manners. Maybe is it not necessary for officials to have a sense of tact?" Inna wrote.

It should be noted that the conflict in the community arose on the basis of the city council's decision to reorganize the school in Bodakva village. The teaching staff insists that it is not legal as the procedure prescribed by law was not followed. Now public discussions are to begin.

As OBOZ.UA previously reported, residents of the village of Bodakva in the Poltava region are fighting to save their gymnasium. A wave of indignation has risen online over the attempts of the Zavodske territorial community, which includes the village, to reorganize the institution into a primary school.

It should be noted that they want to close the gymnasium in order to "save money." However, locals are not sure that the money will be used for the needs of the village. Meanwhile, the mayor of Zavodske, Vitalii Sydorenko, receives a considerable salary: in 2022, he earned more than 700 thousand hryvnias.
