President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has spoken about the political situation in Ukraine and possible elections during martial law. According to him, Ukrainians do not want elections now, but the country needs unity.

He emphasized that if someone does not like it, they can choose another citizenship. Zelenskyy said this at the main session of the 61st Munich Security Conference on February 15.

The head of state emphasized that he was focusing on the country's survival and doing everything possible for it. Half of his presidential time was spent on COVID-19, and the other half on a full-scale war.

"I am ready to talk about elections if you want. Ukrainians do not want this. They don't want it at all. They are afraid because otherwise, we will lose wartime. The soldiers will return home and Putin will seize our entire territory," the Ukrainian leader said.

Zelenskyy added that Ukrainians are now mobilized, one organism and one country. Therefore, this unity within Ukraine needs to be preserved, because it is not about him, but about the future of the country and today.

In his opinion, the most important question now is how to survive and how to save Ukraine, its independence, and the homes of Ukrainians.

"If someone doesn't like it, they can choose another citizenship. If they want to. We have a real state," Zelenskyy emphasized.

Earlier, the president said that during a telephone conversation with his American counterpart Donald Trump, he did not discuss the election in Ukraine.

As OBOZ.UA reported, the second day of the security conference started in Munich on February 15. The program of this day is devoted to discussing global and regional crises, and the topic of the Russian-Ukrainian war remains in the spotlight.

On the first day of the Munich conference, Zelenskyy said that Putin was preparing for a war with NATO, and Ukraine needed security guarantees. At the same time, the United States has no plan to end the war.
