Zelensky made a speech in The Hague

On Thursday, May 4, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky arrived in The Hague in the Netherlands on a visit. The Ukrainian leader held talks with Senate President Jan Braun and the head of the House of Representatives Vera Bergkamp.

Next, the head of state plans to visit the International Criminal Court, which investigates war crimes in Ukraine, and to meet with its president, Piotr Hofmanski, presidential spokesman Serhiy Nikiforov said in a commentary to Ukrainian media.

He also added that the president will meet with Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte as well as Belgian Prime Minister Alexander De Croo, will have an audience with King Willem-Alexander and will visit a Dutch air force base.




After the first meetings, Zelensky arrived at the Senate of the General States in The Hague. There the Ukrainian leader was greeted with prolonged applause. The Ukrainian leader gave a speech.



Zelensky then arrived at the International Criminal Court in The Hague, where he began a big speech "No Peace without Justice" in front of the Dutch public and representatives of international judicial institutions. The state leader hinted that the Russian dictator Putin should be brought before the ICC for the crimes committed against Ukraine.


"We all want to see another Vladimir here," the president noted.

"We want to make this war the last war in the world! And we will do it," Zelensky stressed during his speech.

The Ukrainian guarantor arrived in the Netherlands the night before, after visiting Finland on 3 May. The head of state also plans to visit the International Criminal Court in The Hague, which investigates crimes committed during the war in Ukraine.

As we know, this is Zelensky's first visit to the Netherlands as head of the Ukrainian state and one of his few trips outside of Ukraine since the full-scale war began.

On May 3, the Ukrainian president paid an official visit to Helsinki and held talks with Finnish President Sauli Niiniste. The main topic of the conversation between the two leaders was the Russian aggression against Ukraine, preparations for the next EU sanctions package against Russia and measures to prevent the aggressor from circumventing the restrictions already imposed.

Also President Zelenski took part in the Ukraine - Northern Europe summit in Helsinki. The main topic of the talks of the six leaders was geopolitical security.

Also, the Ukrainian guarantor held talks with the prime ministers of Sweden, Denmark, Iceland and Finland. According to the head of the state, the topic of talks was the challenges related to the war. He noted that the bilateral meetings were very important.
