"We deserve an equal dialog": Zelenskyy says he will meet with Trump if it's about "solving real problems"
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he would meet with U.S. President Donald Trump if it comes to "solving real problems." At the same time, Ukraine is ready to accept the minerals agreement, which failed to be signed last week due to a dispute in the Oval Office.
This was reported by Bloomberg. In addition, the Ukrainian president recognized Kyiv's dependence on US military support.
"We are worthy of an equal dialogue," Zelenskyy said after participating in the security summit of European leaders on Sunday, March 2.
According to the newspaper, the Ukrainian leader emphasized that holding such an open conversation was not positive for both the United States and Ukraine. At the same time, Zelenskyy is confident that "the situation will pass, and there are more important things ahead."
"If the US president invites him 'for a constructive dialogue, for solving real problems, for serious questions and real, decisive actions and answers, I will come,'" the newspaper reported, citing the Ukrainian president.
Zelenskyy noted that the agreement on natural resources with the United States is ready to be signed at the ministerial level. He emphasized that Ukraine is not abandoning this proposal, despite the events that have taken place and is ready to accept the agreement.
The guarantor also emphasized his right to defend the dignity of his country and people, calling on his partners to be understanding of the suffering that Ukraine has endured after three years of Russian invasion.
"I am ready for any format of constructive relations with the United States," Zelenskyy said.
As a reminder, in an interview with Fox News, Zelenskyy said that he did not consider it necessary to apologize to US President Donald Trump over their dispute in the White House. However, the Ukrainian leader regrets what happened, he claims that Trump needs to "understand the position of Ukrainians."
As OBOZ.UA reported, on February 28, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy paid an official visit to the United States. At the White House, he met with President Donald Trump, and earlier he spoke with U.S. senators. They also planned to sign an agreement on minerals between Ukraine and the United States.
During the talks at the White House, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, US President Donald Trump, and Vice President J.D. Vance had a dispute over negotiations with Russia.
The dispute led to Volodymyr Zelenskyy leaving the White House early. The minerals agreement, as previously announced, was not signed.
