Ukrainian politician Oleksandr Kubrakov has been fired from his post as Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction and Head of the Ministry of Community Development, Territories and Infrastructure. He did not submit a resignation letter, as is usually the case with such personnel changes.

The relevant decision was made by members of the Verkhovna Rada at a meeting on May 9. This was reported by the Telegram channel "Iron MP" of MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak.

"An interesting detail... Usually, ministers write a letter of resignation themselves, but here they collect signatures from MPs for the relevant resolution. The committee also met in the morning, and then the parliament has to vote. So it's like an initiative of MPs to demote a minister," he explained before the vote.

As a result, 272 out of 320 MPs present in the hall voted in favor of the resolution, while 35 did not vote and 13 abstained.

Before that, Kubrakov reacted to the news of his dismissal, saying that he had not been discussed with him and had not even been invited to a meeting of the faction and the relevant committee, although he was ready to report on the work of the department he headed.

"I am always ready for an open dialog and a detailed report on the work of the Ministry in all areas of my responsibility... We have managed to launch a number of important initiatives and projects for the state. Regarding the vote for the draft resolution by the Verkhovna Rada, we have come a long way in 5 years of joint work. With an absolute majority, we are moving in the same direction. Everyone makes decisions in accordance with their beliefs and is responsible for it," he wrote on Facebook.

It is noted that on the same day, the Prime Minister is to be presented with a proposal for candidates for the positions of Minister of Infrastructure and Agrarian Policy (instead of Solsky, who resigned amid a corruption scandal).

As OBOZ.UA previously reported, the Ministry of Infrastructure was officially merged with the Ministry of Regional Development in December 2022. At that time, the new structure was headed by Oleksandr Kubrakov, a former MP from the Servant of the People party, an entrepreneur, an expert in the IT and mobile communications markets, who is also a member of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief's Staff.
