"The United States can stop the war": In Munich, Zelenskyy points out the main challenge and talks about his upcoming visit to Saudi Arabia

Russia is preparing 15 new divisions to increase the threat to Ukraine from Belarus, and they may also threaten Poland or the Baltic states. At the same time, the United States can put an end to Russian terror and prevent the expansion of Russian aggression both in Ukraine and beyond – and it must remain on the right side of history.

This was stated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a conversation with journalists at the Munich Security Conference. He also spoke about his upcoming visit to Saudi Arabia and whether he plans to meet with Russians there.

According to Zelenskyy, this year the aggressor state will focus on training 15 new divisions that will increase the threat to Ukraine from Belarus. The group of 100-150 thousand occupants will be located on Belarusian territory "in whole or in part."

"It will be about 100-150 thousand people. This is a large group. But I'm not sure that this group will attack Ukraine. It may, but I'm not sure," the president emphasized.

He added that it is possible that the newly created divisions may also be preparing to attack NATO countries, such as Poland or the Baltic states, next year. According to Zelenskyy, he plans to discuss information about Russia's plans for Belarus with U.S. President Donald Trump.

Zelenskyy also emphasized that without joining NATO, Ukraine needs an army of 1.5 million people.

At the same time, he noted that he believes that the United States is currently "not in the middle, but at the top," because this country has real leverage to stop Russian aggression against Ukraine. However, the United States must remain on Ukraine's side, otherwise Europe "will have to put on a military uniform."

The president also spoke about his upcoming visit to Saudi Arabia, and he and his wife will also visit Turkey. Both visits are official and will take place at the invitation of the leaders of these countries. And, he emphasized, there are no plans to meet with representatives of the Russian Federation or the United States in Saudi Arabia.

Zelenskyy is also unaware of "a possible meeting of representatives of Ukraine, Russia, and the United States at the Munich Conference."

Earlier, Trump had announced allegedly planned meetings with Russians in Munich and Saudi Arabia. According to him, in both cases, these were "trilateral meetings" between representatives of the United States, Russia, and Ukraine.

At the same time, the Ukrainian President’s Office denied any intention to engage with the Russians in Munich, and the organizers of the Munich Security Conference emphasized that Russians were not accredited, and Germany had not issued visas – without this, they could not attend the event.
