For the first time, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with the leaders of NATO's Indo-Pacific partner countries in a five-party format. The talks took place on the sidelines of the NATO Summit in Washington on July 11.

The details were provided by the President's Office. Zelenskyy noted that he had discussed with the leaders of the countries the situation in the Indo-Pacific region, which is changing rapidly and requires unity and coherence in security issues.

The meeting was attended by President of the Republic of Korea Yoon Suk Yeol, Prime Minister of New Zealand Christopher Luxon, Prime Minister of Japan Fumio Kishida, and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of Australia Richard Marles.

"This format of cooperation is new for us. We have special relations with each of your countries, as well as specific areas of cooperation. But today, together, we can discuss global issues of common interest," Zelenskyy said.

He thanked the leaders of the countries for their continued solidarity and support for Ukraine in the fight against Russian aggression, as well as for their participation in the first Peace Summit.

Against the backdrop of Russia's constant attacks on civilian infrastructure and civilians, Zelenskyy stressed that Ukraine urgently needs to strengthen its air defense and missile defense systems.

As reported, Australia has announced a new military aid package for Ukraine worth $250 million. This is its largest package since the beginning of the full-scale war.
