The social network Instagram is constantly working to provide its users with as many opportunities for self-expression as possible. One of them is the ability to add your favorite song to your profile.

The platform announced this feature the day before, according to The Verge. Journalists have already noted that it resembles a similar feature of the social network Myspace, which was very popular in the early 2000s.

Earlier, Instagram has already made it possible to add audio tracks to its posts and Reels. The profile song largely repeats this functionality.

To add a song, you will need to go to the profile editing page and select the appropriate option. The user will then be able to choose something from Instagram's library of licensed music. It is also available for different types of posts. Users will be able to insert a 30-second fragment of a track on their page. The song will be displayed in the page header until the account owner decides to change or delete it.

Unlike Myspace, songs added to a profile on Instagram will not play automatically. Users will be able to start and stop the track at will.

The social network chose popular singer Sabrina Carpenter, who released one of the biggest hits of this summer, Espresso, to be the ambassador of the innovation. Her song Taste became available for Instagram users to add to their profiles. It was published in this way even before the official release.

Instagram also added several hidden features dedicated to Carpenter's album Short n'Sweet, which was released on August 23. Using certain keywords, such as "Sabrina" or the coffee cup emoji, will turn temporary Notes messages light blue. There is also a special chat topic called "Carpenter".
