World boxing champion sensationally knocked out with 'punch of the year'. Video
The IBF world lightweight champion (up to 57.2 kg), Mexican Luis Alberto Lopez (30-3, 17 KOs), sensationally lost by a harsh knockout to former US champion Angelo Leo (25-1, 12 KOs). The 12-round fight at the Tingley Coliseum in Albuquerque (USA) ended early.
From the first minutes, Lopez captured the center of the ring. The champion moved a lot, worked as the first number and tried to block his opponent near the ropes, working on the body. Being carried away by energy-consuming attacks, the Mexican did not calculate his strength, gradually missing more and more heavy blows from his opponent.
In the 6th round, Luis seemed to have discovered a second wind. He began to push his opponent again, increasing his speed.
The denouement came at the 10th three-minute mark. In response to the leader's lethargic jab, Leo delivered a strong counterpunch, after which Lopez was unable to get up.
On social media, experts and fans unanimously dubbed what happened the "knockout of the year."
