Which inexpensive cars turned out to be more economical than manufacturers promised
A new study has tested the fuel consumption of popular cars. We are interested in inexpensive cars that actually turned out to be even more fuel-efficient than originally promised by manufacturers.
The experiment was conducted by experts from the Australian Automobile Association (AAA). And, according to Car Expert, they came to some interesting conclusions.
It's no secret that automakers resort to laboratory measurements to announce the most attractive (i.e. low) fuel consumption. But road irregularities, weather, and traffic conditions always make adjustments to the real numbers.
Real fuel consumption of modern cars:
- Kia Cerato (gasoline) 6.7 l/100 km (10% more efficient);
- Volkswagen Tiguan (gasoline) 6.7 l/100 km (13% more efficient);
- Ford Everest (diesel) 7.1 l/100 km (1% more economical).
The experts managed to find out the real performance in real everyday traffic conditions. The cars on the list proved to be better than other cars.
