The presentation of the new iPhone 16 will take place earlier than expected, namely at Apple Park in Cupertino, California, on September 9.
Earlier, Apple was preparing to hold the presentation on September 10, Bloomberg reports, but it became known that the event would take place a day earlier. The first presidential debate between Vice President Kamala Harris and Republican candidate Donald Trump is scheduled for September 10.
What is known about the iPhone 16
The main surprises will be revealed at the presentation, but certain technical characteristics of the new product are already known.
For example, the iPhone 16 will have larger screens on Pro models and new camera features, such as a special button for taking photos. Of course, the main aspects of the presentation will be focused on Apple Intelligence, a set of AI features that will be available on all new iPhone models.
In addition to new iPhones, Apple is preparing significant changes to its smartwatch lineup and updated AirPods. The next version of the standard Apple Watch will have bigger displays and a thinner design. The company is also planning a version of its low-cost Watch SE that will be made of plastic for the first time.
Apple is also set to unveil two new AirPods models: a new low-cost version to replace the 2019 AirPods, as well as a replacement for the mid-range AirPods that were released in 2021. Both models will have a new design more similar to the AirPods Pro, while the mid-range model will feature noise cancellation for the first time.
The presentation of new products is crucial for Apple, which is betting on new products to help restore growth in the iPhone and other gadget segments.
In October, Apple Intelligence will be released as part of the iOS 18.1 operating system. The first iPhone 16 models are expected to ship with iOS 18.0, which does not contain many AI-driven improvements.
