What is the range of inexpensive electric cars in 2024. Photo
Experts have found out what electric cars can actually drive in the real world to compare the range with the passport indicators. In the course of the study, inexpensive models showed their capabilities.
The results of the study were published on the Motor1 website. Experts recorded the maximum range of each tested electric car. The most expensive premium models also took part in the test. And we at OBOZ.UA have chosen the most affordable ones, because such cars are in the highest demand.
The range of electric vehicles in the real world:
- Tesla Model 3 (75 kWh battery) – 498 km ( 629 km declared);
- BYD Seal (82 kWh battery) – 452 km ( 570 km claimed);
- Volkswagen ID.7 (77 kWh battery) – 400 km ( 621 km claimed);
- Fiat 600e (51 kWh battery) – 282 km ( 409 km claimed);
- Jeep Avenger (51 kWh battery) – 275 km ( 401 km claimed);
- Toyota bZ4X (64 kWh battery) – 249 km ( 419 km claimed);
It turned out that even modern electric vehicles can't justify the official figures when it comes to real-world use. All models showed a significant drop in range.
The Toyota bZ4X crossover lagged behind its passport figure by almost 40%. China's BYD Seal fell short by more than 20%. And even the Tesla Model 3 did not cope – the real power reserve was 21% lower.
