What gestures show your dog's love for you: you've definitely noticed them
Dogs have long been known as man's best friend, and the bond between these pets and their owners is truly special. Studies have shown that a dog's heart rate increases by 46.2 percent when they are told "I love you."
If you've ever wondered if your dog loves you as much as you love him, expert Emma Scales-Theobald has lifted the veil to the mystery, Express writes.
According to her, there are many things that can mean "I love you" in dog language, one of which your pet can do every day.
"When dogs bring you their toys, they're not just inviting you to play; they're also sharing something valuable to them. This behavior is a sign of trust and affection, especially in breeds like Labradors and Golden Retrievers. Recognize this gesture by playing or praising them for their generosity," she explained.
Similarly, the "play bow" - lowered front, raised hindquarters, wagging tail - is a "universal invitation" to have fun.
The expert noted: "When a dog does this, it expresses excitement and joy in your presence. Responding with play strengthens your bond and keeps your dog mentally and physically stimulated."
According to her, dogs are social creatures, and their staying close to you - even without direct contact - shows their trust and affection.
"For some dogs, sitting on your lap is the biggest show of affection, while others may prefer to lie down next to you. Watch their choice of proximity, as it often reflects their level of comfort and love for you," the dog handler said.
