VW failed to cope with a serious problem in its electric car loved by many Ukrainians
The inexpensive Volkswagen ID.4 model is very popular with customers and is a favorite model of Ukrainians in its segment. Recently, a serious problem was found in the electric car, which the manufacturer was unable to solve.
The company found out that water could get into the electronic door locks and cause a malfunction. Due to this problem, the doors can open at any time. At the same time, Volkswagen has not figured out a solution to this problem. Therefore, it was decided to suspend production of the VW ID.4 in the United States, Carscoops writes.
According to reports, some cars may have problems with water getting into the handles and reaching the circuit board inside. Despite the fact that the VW ID.4 door handles look traditional, they are really electric. The design turned out to be vulnerable to moisture.
Production of the Volkswagen ID.4 will be halted and the problem will be further investigated.

The manufacturer is not aware of any accidents or injuries related to this problem. However, 135 warranty claims have been filed in connection with the issue.
Interestingly, the recall campaign affects all VW ID.4s manufactured in the United States. This is about 120 thousand cars.
