The German company discontinued the Volkswagen Beetle when sales fell under the pressure of crossovers. The car managed to survive in two modern generations. Each of them had design references to the original Beetle of the mid-twentieth century.
The manufacturer's immediate plans for the future of the legendary model are unknown. Most likely, they do not exist at all.
