Volkswagen's cheapest electric car shown in the first photo: premiere is coming soon
Volkswagen promised to start developing a new budget model with an attractive price of 20,000 euros. The manufacturer showed its cheapest electric car in the first photo before the official premiere.
The car is positioned as an affordable, high-quality, and profitable electric car. The name is still being kept secret, but according to Motor1, the new product may be called VW ID.1. The photo shows the concept harbinger, its name is Volkswagen ID.EVERY1.
The first photo does not fully reveal the design of the VW model but hints at a reference to the appearance of the 1st generation Volkswagen Golf. The expected body length is about 4 meters.
The new Volkswagen ID.2 will be larger, but will share the platform.

It will be based on the MEB Small platform (from Volkswagen ID.2) for the smallest front-wheel drive electric cars. No technical details have been disclosed yet.
The concept will premiere in March 2025. The car should go into mass production by 2027.
