Volkswagen is preparing a new sports model with outstanding performance. The car will be built on the basis of the low-cost VW ID2.all electric car, which is being prepared for the premiere. New details about the car have been announced.

This became known to Motor1. The GTI nameplate that the new electric car will receive obliges the model to be dynamic. But the company noted that buyers will like not only speed and power but also handling and driving characteristics. These parameters promise to surpass the gasoline VW Golf GTI.

Earlier, the head of Volkswagen's American department noted that such a car would be useful in the market with a price of 20-25 thousand dollars.

The new VW ID.GTI is a sporty variant of the electric Volkswagen ID2.all that will replace the Polo. The car is small, with a length of about 4 m, a wheelbase of 2600 mm, a width of about 1.8 m, and a height of 1.5 m. The body of the concept, which hinted at the design, was painted red and complemented by dark elements.

A small spoiler was installed on the roof, and the spectacular retro-style wheels have a diameter of 20 inches. The air intakes in the front bumper, raised sills and rear diffuser add to the aggressiveness.

The estimated power of the electric power plant is 250-300 hp. The range after a full charge is about 450 km. The new Volkswagen ID.GTI is expected to be launched in 2026 or 2027.
