The fight ended in the 1st round.

The WBC lightweight world champion Junto Nakatani (28-0, 21 KOs) won a spectacular victory at a boxing night in Tokyo. The 26-year-old prodigy knocked out mandatory challenger Vincent Astrolabio (19-5, 14 KOs) from the Philippines at the Kokugikan Arena in the capital.

Astrolabio tried to box as the number one, but it immediately became clear that he was seriously losing to his opponent in power, speed, and technique. The reigning champion launched successful counterattacks every time, and one of them proved fatal for the challenger.

30 seconds before the end of the 1st round, the Filipino was knocked to the canvas after missing a powerful body shot. He tried to get to his feet but was unable to continue the fight.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, on February 24, Nakatani defeated Mexican Alejandro Santiago (28-4-5, 14 KOs), taking the title and becoming the champion in the third weight category. The Japanese previously became the world champion in the lightest (WBO, 2020-2022) and 2nd lightest (WBO, 2023) divisions.
