Unbeaten heavyweight sensationally lost by brutal knockout in the 1st round. Video.
Famous Mexican heavyweight Georgie Villa (6-1, 5 KOs) suffered an unexpected defeat at a boxing night in Aguascalientes (the capital of the state of the same name in west-central Mexico). The 10-round bout against his compatriot Ubaldo Illagor (12-1, 11 KOs) ended early.
After a slow start to the bout, Ubaldo was able to pin his opponent against the ropes, working on the "floors". Alternating punches to the body and head, Illagor suddenly threw a left hook that cut Villa down completely.
The referee immediately showed that the fight was stopped, and the loser needed a chair to recover.
As OBOZ.UA reported earlier, former world champion Guillermo Rigondeaux (23-3, 16 KOs) made a spectacular return to the ring at the age of 44. In the main fight at the show in Miami (USA), the Cuban knocked out 33-year-old Dominican boxer Dennis Aguero Arias (20-3, 17 KOs).
