Ukrainians started buying more luxury cars: which brands are the most popular

Despite the fact that the full-scale invasion of Russian troops continues, sales of premium cars in Ukraine are growing. The most popular car brands in the luxury segment were BMW, Lexus, and Audi.

In total, more than 2.8 thousand new premium cars were sold in the first quarter of 2024. According to Ukrautoprom, this is 2% more than in the same period last year. In particular, the most popular cars were:

  • BMW – 736 units;
  • Lexus – 491 units;
  • Audi – 421 units.

However, in general, the share of premium cars in the new car market fell from almost 25% to 17% over the year. The regions where half of such cars were sold from January to March were also reported: Kyiv, Dnipro and Odesa regions.

Meanwhile, the Ukrainian car market is showing growth. In total, Ukrainians bought 6.7 thousand new cars in March, which is 50% more than in March 2023. The most popular models were Renault Duster, Toyota RAV4, and KIA Sportage.

OBOZ.UA also reported that the number of used cars sold in Ukraine increased over the year. In particular, in March, 86.4 thousand transactions of sale and purchase of such cars were concluded in the domestic market, which is 7.3% more than in March last year, but 0.7% less than in February 2014. The most popular among buyers were cars from three manufacturers, such as Volkswagen, Lada, and Renault.
