Ukrainians are twice as likely to buy used cars from the US: top 5 models
Ukrainians are actively ordering used cars from the United States. This is evidenced by the fact that every fifth used car registered in April came to Ukraine from the United States. The most popular brands are Tesla, Ford, and Jeep.
According to Ukrautoprom, a total of almost 3.7 thousand used cars from the United States were registered in Ukraine last month, which is 19% of all cars that were registered for the first time. Thus, the demand for such cars has doubled compared to April 2023.
The largest share of "Americans" with mileage falls on cars with gasoline engines (47%) and electric cars (34%). The rest are "hybrids", cars with LPG (7% each), and diesel cars (5%). The average age of these cars was 6 years.
The five most popular models of used cars made in the United States are as follows:
- Tesla Model 3 (408 units were registered in April);
- Tesla Model Y (313);
- Ford Escape (246);
- Jeep Cherokee (232);
- Volkswagen Passat (210).
This continued the trend observed in the first quarter of the year when the Ukrainian car fleet was replenished with 9.9 thousand cars made in the United States, which is 90% more than in the same period last year. Tesla, Volkswagen, and Ford were also the most popular among buyers.
