Ukrainian athlete withdrawn from 2024 Olympic race
Ukrainian cyclist Yana Belomoina failed to finish the women's mountain bike race at the 2024 Olympics. The 31-year-old from Lutsk was disqualified as a round robin.
According to the regulations, 36 participants covered seven laps of the course with a total length of 4.4 kilometers. On the sixth lap, Belomoyna was almost 11 minutes behind the leader, after which the organizers decided to disqualify the Ukrainian.
As a result, Yana was ranked 26th out of 34 participants who finished the competition.
The race was won by Frenchwoman Pauline Ferrand-Prevot, who completed the course in 1:26:02 hours.
For Belomoyina, the performance in Paris is the third Olympics in her career: Ninth place in Rio 2016 and eighth place in Tokyo 2020.
