The new electric car, the Wuling Mini EV Macaron (apparently named after the cake), is shown in the photo. It is the cheapest electric car in the world at $3,000, created by General Motors and SAIC.
Details about the budget car were reported by CarNewsChina. The Wuling Mini EV Macaron is the next generation of the compact Chinese electric car, which has been well-received by buyers and has sold millions of units.
The body length is 3064 mm, with a wheelbase of 2010 mm, a width of 1493 mm, and a height of 1614 mm. The interior is designed for four people, and the trunk volume with the rear seats folded is 734 liters.
Buyers will be offered several powertrains to choose from 27 hp and 41 hp. Battery packs will also be selectable. The promised range is from 120 to 280 kilometers.
The price of the Wuling Mini EV starts from $2,850. This is the cheapest electric car in the world, but in this case, the battery will have to be rented. The "full" set can be bought for $4,700.
