This is our common pain: the film "20 Days in Mariupol" was screened in the Italian capital

The documentary 20 Days in Mariupol, which tells the story of the Russian invaders' attack on the Ukrainian city on February 24, 2022, was shown in Rome.

This was reported by the press service of the Mariupol City Council on Facebook.

"With the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and the Italian government, a documentary about the blockade of Mariupol by the Russian occupiers was presented in Rome at the Chamber of Deputies," the statement said.

The purpose of the screening was to convey the truth about the tragedy of the Ukrainian city.

The Embassy of Ukraine in Italy noted that this film is proof of Russia's genocide of Ukrainians.

"20 Days in Mariupol is our common pain, our tragedy. This movie is more than a documentary. It is a record of war crimes committed by Russia in our city. I thank the Italian government for their support and attention. I thank our Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and special thanks to the Embassy of Ukraine in Italy for the system and well-coordinated work. Together we are countering enemy propaganda and delivering the truth," said Mariupol Mayor Vadym Boychenko.

As reported, the premiere of the film "20 Days in Mariupol" took place in January 2023 at the Sundance Film Festival.

The film 20 Days in Mariupol has been nominated for an Academy Award in the Best Documentary Feature category.
