They will run for only three days: "Ukrzaliznytsia" launches special trains for the military
On February 14, Ukrzaliznytsia (UZ) will launch exclusive trains with steam locomotives on Valentine's Day, with tickets available only to the military. These are romantic two-hour express trains called "Train to You" that will run in Kyiv and Lviv on February 14-16. The ticket price starts at 300 UAH in Lviv and 460 UAH in Kyiv.
This is stated in the message of UZ. "The trip in both Kyiv and Lviv will last a little over 2 hours, starting and ending at the Central Station," the company said.
Trains will run according to the following schedule:
- February 14: departure in Lviv at 18:56, in Kyiv – at 19:20;
- February 15: departure in Lviv at 16:11, in Kyiv – at 15:15;
- February 16: departure in Lviv at 18:56, in Kyiv – at 19:20.
Ticket sales for the unusual train will open on February 7 at 16:00. Tickets will be available exclusively through the Army+ program as part of the Plus program to support military personnel. "You will be able to find the Train to You in the Army+ app by searching for Kyiv-Pasazhyrskyi – Kyiv-Romantic and Lviv – Lviv-Romantic," UZ said.
Real steam locomotives will be used on the routes. The cars will be equipped with compartments for two with romantic music and a themed game (which one is not specified). Passengers are also promised a free tea party with treats.

At the same time, there is a chance that not only military personnel will be able to use the "romantic express." According to Ukrzaliznytsia, this will happen if the defenders of Ukraine do not buy all the tickets. Then the remaining tickets will go on sale in the UZ app one day before the departure of each flight.
As OBOZ.UA previously reported, in late January, Ukrzaliznytsia launched a retro train with a steam locomotive. It runs on the oldest and longest narrow-gauge railway in Europe on the route Haivoron – Bershad – Khashchuvyi.
