The 2008 Peugeot crossover became the basis for the Iran Khodro Ray budget crossover. The Iranian automaker creates very cheap models, and the new Ray is no exception.
The photo is published by Khodro Bank, the car was caught during road tests before preparing for mass production. However, there are also photos from a small presentation.
The new Iran Khodro Ray looks unfamiliar, but inside it is a first-generation Peugeot 2008, which gave way to its successor a few years ago. Currently, its components are used by an Iranian budget car.

The cheap Iran Khodro Ray crossover is built on the same platform and is equipped with 1.6-liter (113 hp) and 1.7-liter (160 hp) engines. The front-wheel drive car will be equipped with a manual and automatic transmission.
The design differs from Peugeot models. Although some of the company's other cars, also based on the French brand's units, have always looked like them. The front of the Ray is more reminiscent of Hyundai cars.
