The cheap Suzuki Jimny SUV was supposed to surprise potential buyers with its abilities thanks to a variety of modifications after a large-scale modernization. However, the words of the company's president foretell a difficult situation for the future of this model.

Suzuki President Toshihiro Suzuki commented on the information about the electric version of the SUV. The new Suzuki Jimny EV is supposed to combine traditional off-road qualities with affordability and an electric powertrain. However, according to Carscoops, it is not so simple.

Despite the fact that the new Suzuki Jimny electric car had been officially announced earlier, the company's president noted that the battery did not fit into the model concept and was too heavy a component that would upset the important balance of characteristics.

Perhaps they decided to abandon this modification for now. At the same time, it was expected that the Jimny hybrid could help in the transition period to full electrification until the Suzuki Jimny EV goes on sale. But even in this case, Toshihiro Suzuki made it clear that this option is excluded.

The Suzuki Jimny pickup truck has also been of interest to many for a long time. The manufacturer has not confirmed such a vehicle, but it is known that it has long been in development. Perhaps this is the only option that will go on sale after the modernization.
