The cheapest Dacia is on top again - the state employee leads the market
The European market is once again dominated by Renault's cheapest Dacia model. The Tesla Model Y electric crossover, which sometimes tries to sneak into the top sales, did not stay on the bestseller list.
According to Motor1, in Europe, the Dacia Sandero was the most popular car on the new car market in October 2024 (as in many other months). 21,740 units were sold.
At the same time, the Tesla Model Y electric car, which sometimes came close to the leader, did not even make it into the top 25. The EV market has indeed slowed down significantly, and in Europe, this segment was led by the Skoda Enyaq iv electric crossover (21st place in the overall sales ranking).
Following the Dacia Sandero, the Peugeot 208 was noted in the sales ranking with 20,389 units. In third place is the 3rd generation Volkswagen Tiguan crossover with 17,368 units sold.
Renault Clio took the fourth place with 16,987 units, and Toyota Yaris Cross with 16,542 vehicles. In total, 1,040,390 cars were sold in Europe in October, and 10,796,414 units since the beginning of 2024.
