Representatives of the "Russian elite" circumvent sanctions with the help of "golden passports" of Dominica. With this passport, you can travel to about 140 countries, including the European Union (EU).
The Project, together with its partners from OCCRP, obtained the data of the holders of the "golden passports". "Billionaires Rik Nisanov, Zarakh Iliyev, Omar Murtuzaliyev, Rotenberg's partner Vasily Anisimov, and Euras shareholder Alexander Abramov received golden passports.
All but Murtuzaliyev are under Western sanctions. At the same time, Dominican citizenship helps oligarchs from the terrorist country to circumvent bank checks and other restrictions by hiding the presence of a Russian passport and changing their name.
Dominican passports are also purchased by those citizens of the aggressor country who have criminal cases against them in Russia. Among them are Mikhail Yanchuk, the former head of Antalbank, who is accused of embezzling billions of rubles from depositors, and Roman Vasilenko, the owner of the BestWay, Life is Good, and Hermes pyramid schemes.
OBOZREVATEL reported earlier that the EU has banned Russian residents from importing cars, smartphones, jewelry, laptops and other items. Russians are no longer allowed to import even shampoos into the bloc.
