A native of Ukraine, who was beaten by Kadyrov's son, is convicted in Russia

In Russia, a 20-year-old native of Ukraine, Mykyta Zhuravel, was sentenced to 3.5 years in prison. He was accused of burning the Muslim holy book, the Quran, in May 2023.

This was reported by Russian media. It is noted that the Ukrainian allegedly apologized to Muslims and pleaded guilty.

The propagandists claim that Zhuravel did this for 10 thousand rubles, which he eventually did not receive. The law enforcement officers of the aggressor state did not find the people who promised him money for desecrating the holy book.

Russian media recalled that the video of the Quran burning appeared online on May 19 last year, and a few days later, the aggressor state's security forces announced that they had detained the suspect, who turned out to be a native of Ukraine. The Russian Investigative Service transferred the case to Chechnya .

In the summer of 2023, the 15-year-old son of the head of the republic, Ramzan Kadyrov, Adam, beat Mykyta in the Grozny detention center. The attacker's influential father published a video of the beating and said that he considered the act of the novice terrorist Adam to be right.

As a reminder, a Russian court also sentenced a former actor of the Academic Maly Theater of Russia, star of the TV series Glukhar and the movie Nikto Ne Znaet Pro Seks 2 with Ksenia Sobchak, Kirill Kanakhin, to life in prison in absentia in the case of "high treason." After the full-scale invasion, he left his homeland and joined the ranks of the Russian Volunteer Corps (RVC), which is fighting on the side of Ukraine against the occupiers. In particular, in early March 2023, Kanakhin took part in an attack on the Bryansk region.
