The retro-styled design of the Renault 5 E-Tech electric continues the styling of the 2021 concept, which hinted at a production car. The new electric car was made to look like the Renault R5 budget hatchback, which was produced from 1972 to 1996.
Renault's new budget model will initially be available with two powerplants with 120 and 150 horsepower. The estimated range is 400 km from a 52 kWh battery pack. It was reported that a cheaper version with 40 kWh and a 300 km range with 95 horsepower will be offered later.
The new Renault 5 E-Tech electric previously caused a stir in the market when taking pre-orders. Buyers were interested in the model's modernity and low price. The electric car collected 50 thousand applications in the first days.
