Pilot reveals the truth about where feces from an airplane disappear during a flight
The idea that feces from an airplane falls on people's heads during a flight is considered a myth. But many people still believe it.
Pilot and blogger Garrett told us what really happens to the waste. He filmed a video on TikTok in which he debunked the strange belief that feces is thrown out of an airplane in flight.
"Did you know that every time you flush the toilet on an airplane, it doesn't actually go down the drain onto the people below? It goes through the plumbing to the back of the plane and the sealed compartments where the ground crew removes all that waste at the destination," Garrett explained.
He said that on a long-haul flight, toilets can be flushed more than a thousand times, generating more than 320 gallons (1,200 liters) of waste. That's a lot of waste.

In particular, a video about this myth has received more than 4 million views on TikTok, which means that it is quite popular. And among the commenters, there are those who believed in it and those who believe that the myth has long been debunked: "Wait, people actually think it's going down?"
