Paramount Studios begins production of Top Gun 3: what's known
Paramount has started working on the third chapter of the Top Gun franchise. Tom Cruise will play the main role but it is not yet known who else will appear in the movie.
It was reported by Variety. There is no official information from Paramount, and studio representatives declined to comment.
The plot of the threequel does not yet exist. Discussions on the new script began at the end of last year, but neither Cruise nor the company has yet agreed on the proposals of the group of writers.
It is known that the scriptwriters are led by Ehren Kruger, who worked on Top Gun: Maverick. Joseph Kosinski, who directed the previous chapter of the franchise and previously worked with Cruise on Oblivion, will also return to the director's chair.
There are rumors that in addition to Tom Cruise, Miles Teller and Glen Powell will be involved in the filming of the movie.
As you know, the premiere of Top Gun: Maverick took place in May 2022. The film's total gross was over $1.3 billion and brought Paramount out of the crisis.
