Not toilet paper: how to wash off makeup if you run out of cotton pads

The life hack suggested by the doctor will work even on sensitive skin

If you wear makeup regularly, you've definitely found yourself in a situation where you need to wash it off at least a couple of times but don't have any cotton pads at hand. Some people try to save the day with toilet paper, but experts say it's a bad idea and suggest using another method.

Dermatologist Shereene Idriss, who shares her advice on TikTok to an audience of more than 700,000 subscribers, spoke about it. According to her, toilet paper is not suitable for cleansing the face, and even long-lasting makeup can be washed off without using soap, which dries the skin.

To cope with persistent cosmetics, the doctor advised adding a few drops of micellar water to your regular cleanser. Both products should be mixed well in the palm of your hand and then applied to dry skin with your fingers.

Idriss showed how to wash off the marks on the skin made by waterproof eyeliner in this way. She rubbed the mixture in circular massage movements and the marks easily disappeared from her face.

"This woman always has the best life hacks," her subscribers commented. They also shared that this approach works even with sensitive skin, which usually reacts poorly to any mechanical stress.
