New Toyota Land Cruiser FJ: what is known about the inexpensive SUV

The car is being prepared for the premiere, which will take place by the end of 2024. It has been awaited for a long time. The new Toyota FJ SUV will be the most affordable model in the Land Cruiser lineup. Motor1 reports that an interesting powertrain may appear in the Toyota Land Cruiser FJ lineup.
We are talking about a hybrid version based on a diesel engine. This specification has already been announced for the Toyota Hilux pickup truck. It is based on a 2.8-liter engine. The output is 204 hp, but this option will not be the only one.
The production Toyota Land Cruiser FJ SUV has not yet been presented.

Insiders report that the new car will also receive a 2.7-liter gasoline engine with a capacity of 166 hp. The appearance of an all-electric SUV is not ruled out, but there is no information on this yet.
The small Toyota Land Cruiser is expected to hit the market in 2025. The car will be the successor to the Toyota FJ Cruiser, which was discontinued about 10 years ago. The price of the Toyota Land Cruiser FJ is about $30,000 for the base version, which is comparable to the RAV4.
