In Poland, every 10 new businesses were founded by Ukrainians in 2023. We are talking about such a form of entrepreneurship as a sole proprietorship (individual entrepreneur).

This was reported by the Rzeczpospolita newspaper, analyzing data from the Central Registration and Business Information portal. In January and February 2022, approximately 200 Ukrainian sole proprietors were registered in Poland per month.

As noted, after the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by the terrorist country Russia, the pace accelerated significantly. In March, it was already about 600 sole proprietors per month, in April - up to 1300, in June - up to 1700, and later - up to 2000 new Ukrainian businesses per month.

At the same time, 2023 was the peak year for the registration of small Ukrainian businesses in Poland, with approximately 2,800 companies registered per month. In total, during 2022-2023, Ukrainians registered 48,464 individual entrepreneurs in Poland.

Most often, Ukrainians open businesses in Poland in the following industries:

  • Construction;
  • IT:
  • provision of services;
  • trade.
