Microsoft will make changes to the keyboard for the first time in 30 years: what will replace the Windows button. Video
For the first time in 30 years, the multinational company Microsoft will make changes to the PC keyboard. Instead of the Windows key, a button will appear to launch the in-house developed AI assistant Copilot.
This was announced by Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer Yusuf Mehdi, according to the company's website. He noted that such an innovation will allow people to participate in the transformation of artificial intelligence more easily.
Copilot is an artificial intelligence tool from Microsoft. It helps users search, write emails, and create images and is based on OpenAI's GPT-4 model.
The updated keyboard is expected to be available on new Windows 11 computers starting in February 2024.
Earlier, the Ministry of Digital Transformation reported that Microsoft had extended the provision of free services in Ukraine for another year - until the end of 2024. Ukrainian government agencies will be able to use them. In addition, the corporation provides government agencies with technical support and equipment.
The head of the department noted that all this will significantly help in the digitalization of government agencies and data protection.
As reported by OBOZ.UA, in the summer of 2023, Microsoft informed Russian corporate clients about the termination of cooperation. In response, the Russian Foreign Ministry said that the American company had "tarnished itself with anti-Russian rhetoric" and was generally harming Russia.
