Mazda may start producing new inexpensive model with a powerful engine soon
The new generations of Mazda MX-5 and RX-7 models are exactly what fans of the Japanese brand are waiting for. At least one car, which, given its high power, will be an inexpensive sports car, has come closer to potential buyers.
Some details about the car have emerged. They are reported by Motor1. Many people took the Mazda Iconic SP 2023 concept as a hint of a production model. The head of the company, Masahiro Moro, noted that Mazda is approaching the production of this sports car step by step.
The car's designer Masashi Nakayama previously said that the Mazda Iconic SP was originally developed with the prospect of a production model. Obviously, the new Japanese sports car will look similar. And this is good news.

However, information about a specific car is still being withheld. It is not known whether it is a new MX-5 or RX-7. The size of the concept model is closer to the second car, but Nakayama has previously emphasized that the design of the car can be easily scaled to the size of a compact MX-5 roadster.
The new Mazda, competing in the sports segment, will be traditionally cheaper than BMW and Mercedes rivals. At the same time, it can get a powerful twin-rotor internal combustion engine with an output of more than 300 hp.
