On Wednesday, October 23, the resources of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs suffered a large-scale DDoS attack. It is currently reported that access to the Russian Foreign Ministry's website is still limited.

The attack was announced by the official representative of the aggressor country, Maria Zakharova. She added that experts are working to restore the resources' functionality.

"We regularly face attacks on our website, but today's cyberattack is unprecedented in scale. We decided not to add any load to the website in the form of a broadcast and postponed the briefing to restore the functionality of our online resources," she said.

In particular, due to the attack, Zakharova's briefing, which was supposed to start at 10:00, began at 14:22. In this regard, she advised to follow the official accounts of the Russian Foreign Ministry on social media for up-to-date information on Russian foreign policy.

"We believe that this kind of hostile influence may be related to the events that are being successfully held these days in Kazan as part of the BRICS summit," Zakharova summarized.

As a reminder, on October 18, cyber specialists from the DIU carried out another attack on Russia's satellite communications. This time, the IT infrastructure of the national mobile satellite communications system operator "Morsvyazsputnik" and the state system for monitoring maritime traffic in Russia were targeted.

As OBOZ.UA reported earlier, cyber specialists of the Defense Ministry's Main Intelligence Directorate attacked Russian educational institutions that train military specialists. In particular, the network infrastructure of the North Caucasus Federal University, which trains UAV operators, digital communications specialists, engineers, and physicists for the occupation army, was affected.
