Buyers have long been frightened by the disappearance of new, inexpensive cars on the market. However, the bestseller list in the United States, the world's most prominent car market, shows that such cars still dominate the rankings.
Demand for new cars is growing in the US again. At the same time, the top 20 most popular cars, compiled by Motor1 experts, are mostly inexpensive models.

- Toyota RAV4: 475,193 units;
- Tesla Model Y: 416,000 units;
- Honda CR-V: 402,791 units;
- Ram Pickup: 373,120 units;
- GMC Sierra: 322,946 units;
- Toyota Camry: 309,876 units;
- Nissan Rogue: 245,724 units;
- Honda Civic: 242,005 units;
- Toyota Corolla: 232,908 units;
- Jeep Grand Cherokee: 216,148 units;
- Chevrolet Equinox: 207,730 units;
- Hyundai Tucson: 206,126 units;
- Chevrolet Trax: 200,689 units;
- Ford Explorer: 194,094 units;
- Toyota Tacoma: 192,813 units;
- Subaru Crosstrek: 181,811 units;
- Subaru Forester: 175,521 units;

As you can see, the list is dominated by SUVs and crossovers, but these are mostly inexpensive cars. There are several popular sedans too.
