"I'm speaking frankly": Lukashenko says Belarus is preparing for war, but for the sake of peace

The country is making the necessary preparations

Self-proclaimed President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has said that his country is preparing for war, but allegedly for the sake of peace. At the same time, he assured that Belarus allegedly poses no threat to anyone.

This was reported by the Belarusian media. "Don't believe anyone that we want to fight. We are preparing for war, I am speaking frankly about this. "If you want peace, prepare for war" is not my idea. This is a very correct statement," Lukashenko said.

He clarified that the country is conducting the necessary training of the relevant units and the armed forces are supplied with various types of weapons and equipment.

"If someone from there (from unfriendly countries – Ed.) is whining and criticizing us, you should know that we are doing the right thing. If they start praising us, it's a disaster," the Belarusian leader said.

In addition, he added that Belarus does not threaten anyone and does not need "someone else's land."

As a reminder, the self-proclaimed President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has announced his intention to remain in office for the next term. He said he would run in the so-called "presidential elections" scheduled for 2025.
